Margaret and her husband, James Grago Jr., moved to the Wilmington area from Rome, New York, near Syracuse, last May, she said. “We are a bowling family,” Margaret Grago said Tuesday. The Gragos did not disclose the financial details concerning the purchase of the business.īilled as a family entertainment complex, Ten Pin Alley and Break Time include 24 bowling lanes, 29 pool tables, two bars and a full-service restaurant in a 37,000-square-foot portion of what used to be Marketplace Mall, next to New Hanover County government offices. College Road, according to a New Hanover County deed. 23, paying $2.1 million for the property at 127 S. The Gragos bought Ten Pin Alley and Break Time Billiards from the Herbert family on Nov. All in all, a great experience.Ownership of a Wilmington bowling alley has rolled from one family to another. Friendly service, clean bathrooms, fun atmosphere. (Commercial description: This India Pale Ale has American malts and enormous hop additions that give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.) My description: it was yummy. We ordered the Buffalo Tenders and 2 pints of Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, an IPA from a local place - Bells Brewery in Galesburg, MI. They had great harmonies and were having a lot of fun. The guitar players and keyboard player also sang. There were two guitarists, a keyboardist, drummer and a female singer. They had a really good repertoire of older songs, country songs, pop songs, and rock songs. The cover band’s name was Damage Control. The clientele at various tables and bar stools looked like local hardworking people here to relax and have a good time. We chose the bar and she gestured over to the very clean bar with a couple of local brews on tap and a Wheel O’ Shots. She was very pleasant and asked us if we wanted the bar or a table. We were greeted inside the door by a cute girl in a black stingers tank top and cut off shorts (contrary to the 37 degrees outside - lol). As we drove up, the only motorcycle we saw was the one on the picture of the sign for the place, not usual, I imagine as it is late November and 37° here. We found this place on Unilocal where a couple of reviews described it as a «biker bar», but friendly and cool. Pleasant and decided to try and find somewhere local before turning in for the night. My husband and I flew in for a dinner theatre performance we are doing at a casino in Mt. Yeah, I’m a fan.įun place, good food and tasty local brews. Never been to a Bike Night, Bike Wash or other type event here, but after several years of hitting this place at Showplace events, they’ve won me over and I think I’m gonna do it, :). You want fluff & diva’s? They got those places, just sayin’. I see a lot of stupid comments in some of the reviews regarding the appearance of the staff … didn’t realize so many George Clooney’s/Fabio’s patronized the bar, #rolleyes … be nice, they’re just trying to make a living like everyone else in this economy, eh? My experience was that the service was way above par, attentive and pleasant … place was packed too. Fish & chips (cod) were three decent size pieces and served with a large portion of chips & a veggie. The wings were your standard lightly-battered type and a good value. Large & in-charge, there were more cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons & cheese on that salad then I’ve ever seen offered on a dinner side-salad. The house salad I got with my meal would be a regular menu item anywhere else, IMO. The chili is just awesome … meaty, beany, big chunks of jalapeño and tomatoey … not «burn your mouth out» style, just good & tasty, :). ![]() I had a fish & chips dinner, buffalo wings with a bowl of chili. Prime location at the corner of Grand River & Wixom Rd, easy access from the I- 96, plenty of parking, outdoor patio, big screens everywhere, great beer/drink selection and really pretty good fare. ![]() Yes, a shameless ploy to direct traffic to the club, no different than any other establishment ), and it’s fun, you’ll be glad you went and you’ll be able to get some of the best chili you’ll find anywhere, :). Should be designated as the un-official watering hole for all Suburban Collection Showplace, events, IMO, :) … nice enough to maintain a booth at some of the venues, ie Ultimate Fishing Show, et … and offer attendees a chance to «spin the wheel» for discount coupons at the bar.
